Southern Butler County Garden Club has won the Governor's Trophy! This is the highest award and honor to receive from the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania (GCFP). We competed with other medium size Clubs in Pennsylvania for 2021. This award is a true testament to our hard working members. From the Program Committee, to Hospitality, Membership, Fieldtrips and all of the countless hours of volunteer time for our Community Service Projects, our MEMBERS worked hard for this recognition. A 48 page book of evidence was complied from all of the activities the Club participated in over the year, including photos and was submitted for judging. According to the GCFP Awards Chairperson, what truly set our book apart was the substance of the programs and the work our Club accomplished and documented.
Special thanks to the Club's Officers and their leadership in 2021: Co-Presidents Alicia Garrison & Rita Mack, Treasurer Debbie McFarland and Secretary Patti Day. I was honored to act as Vice President. To our membership, thank you for offering your time, treasure and talents you bring to this amazing Club. Finally to our former Club President and past District IX Director, Rose Romboski, thank you for taking the time to compile and submit the book of evidence. What an amazing group!
